Hi, I’m Carol, a registered integrative therapist based in Birmingham. I am available for in-person sessions in the Birmingham area and I also offer online sessions via zoom.
I have completed training in therapeutic counselling, psychotherapy and life coaching, and I engage in regular CPD to ensure my work and practice remains up to date, ethical and professional. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, fully insured and engage in regular clinical supervision.
About my practice.
I practice in an integrative way. This means I am trained in a number of different therapeutic approaches, and will combine these in the way which best suits you. This approach acknowledges you as a unique individual and allows me to be more flexible and responsive to your needs.
Regardless of what brings you to therapy several principles underpin my work. I will be honest and open with you. I will treat you as the expert on you - and never assume I know better. I will not judge you, no matter what you bring to session. I will work to ensure you always feel supported, heard and safe to work through whatever you need to bring
The goal of therapy is not to receive advice, or a ‘fix’ for your struggles. It is that you gain confidence in your own ability to manage without support, build autonomy and feel better equipped to cope with the challenges life presents.
For many years - prior to training as a domestic violence support worker and then as a therapist - I worked as a marketing and communications consultant. I helped businesses shape and tell great stories about their brands, products and services. Since training to be a therapist, I now work with clients as they explore and tell their own stories, support them as develop new levels of self awareness, create empowered change, and enjoy more balanced, happier lives as a result.
